Situated on the busy main road in cosmopolitan Sparkhill, Jyoti (which means little flame), is widely regarded as one of the best restaurants in the city! It is purely vegetarian and most of the 90 odd menu options are actually vegan! This is not a balti - it is South Indian food which may be spicier than people are used to. They specialise in "Seaside Food" e.g. Pani Puri. Non smoking.

Booking is seriously recommended, as this is a very popular spot and there's only seating for 40.

          Saturday 1pm - 9.30pm
          Sunday 1.30pm - 8pm

The jyoti special masala dosa defintely needs improvement. Its too expensive for 6.45 and it does not taste good. The service was good though.

MMMmm this place is truly a miracle for the veggie/vegan. Nowhere before have I seen a menu that declares what is VegaN. So yes. Cruelty-free Indian meals. Service is fantastic. Samosas are out of this world! You can taste the chunks of ginger in them .. mmm yum! There isn't a bar there – It is a BYO – so take your own booze if that's what you are into. Delicate food. Affordable prices. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Wish I could eat there everyday!! Go On – Treat yourself, take a visit.
