National Climate March - Sat 4 Nov

Where: London City Centre, , London.
Date: Sat 4th Nov 2006 @ 00:00 until ( past event )
Effects of Global Warming 2
On Saturday 4th November, over 10,000 environmentalists will march through London, calling for urgent action on climate change. This is a great opportunity for veggies & vegans to highlight the devastating environmental impact the meat and dairy industries have on the planet, people and wildlife.

There is absolutely no doubt that climate change is the most serious threat to the future of the planet(and all who inhabit it). The implications of doing nothing are portrayed on our tv screens every day, we can not stand by whilst billions of people round the world face the threat of flood, drought, starvation etc. We are far from safe in this country - we recently learnt that the Thames flood barrier was raised just 4 times during the 1990`s, but so far this year it has been raised a total of 48 times!!!

Time is running out. Don`t let the Bush administration delay progress any longer. Demand that world leaders act now to prevent the catastrophic destabilisation of global climate.

Join us on the march in London
Global Climate Campaign
There will be a rally at the US Embassy from 12 noon. Speakers to include George Monbiot, Caroline Lucas MEP and Norman Baker MP. The rally will be followed by a march to Trafalgar Square. The event is part of an International Day of Action on the Saturday before the Nairobi Climate Talks.

This event will be attended by veggies/vegans from across the UK, many will have banners/placards that point out how going veggie/vegan is one of the most effective actions anyone can take to help stop the environmental devastation of global warming. Why not make your own?! For example `Save the Planet - Go Vegan`. We also plan to distribute hundreds of copies of the new eco leaflets from Viva! and The Vegan Society.

Members of RVV will be travelling on the special coach transport from Birmingham. The coach is picking up at Carrs Lane Church Centre in the city centre at 8.30am. Seats cost £12 waged and £6 un-waged. To book seats, contact Stuart Richardson on 0777 594 2841 or Show email address.
