Our New Eco-Veggie Posters are an Invaluable Resource
RVV promote
the many benefits of plant based diets, the most obvious is of course the
fact that animals are not required to suffer and be killed to put food on
our plates!! But we are also particularly keen on creating
awareness of the environmental impact of the meat and dairy
industries. We were absolutely delighted when both Viva! and The Vegan Society recently
produced brand new leaflets/booklets detailing the shocking truth
of the devastation caused by the western worlds addiction to
animal products, and we couldn`t wait to start using them! But we
were not so happy, when we discovered that there are no posters
currently available that clearly illustrate the same facts and figures.
On making this discovery, we set about designing our own `eco-veggie` posters(based on some original designs by a member of Vegan 3 Counties). We found some stunning high resolution images and added some shocking statistics and quotes from well respected environmental protection organisations, government bodies etc. We had the posters professionally printed and laminated in size A2. The result is a set of 5 full colour posters which we hope will appeal to everyone who cares about the future of the planet, and encourage them to change their diet as a result. Staff at our local college, whom we`ve been liaising with regarding holding information stalls, were so impressed with the posters that they paid for 2 more sets for their own use, which are already being displayed at both Redditch and Bromsgrove campuses.
We have no doubt that the posters will be an absolutely invaluable resource for creating awareness for years to come, but the downside of producing full colour A2 posters is, of course, the substantial cost!! One way or another we must recoup our losses. If you feel able to make a small donation to help cover the cost, we would be very grateful indeed. We feel it`s very important that national organisations, such as Viva!, Animal Aid, The Vegan Society etc, produce `eco-veggie` posters themselves and make them available to all their contacts & local groups. Why not contact them to ask if they could mass produce some, to save you having to `rob the bank` as we did! Finally, why not contact environmental groups such as Friends of the Earth, to ask why they are not yet promoting eco-friendly veggie/vegan diets as one of the most effective actions any individual can take to save the planet!!
